Who is this traveler?
My 28-year career with California State Parks included working in and managing a wide variety of parks throughout California. Working in every type of park unit at various levels in many of the 277 California State Parks was an awesome experience.
Ranging from the field as a State Park Ranger to Supervision as a Supervising Ranger and a variety of management levels as Training Coordinator, Museum Director, Park, Sector and District Superintendent and just before retiring as the Northern Division Chief of Operations. The wonderful people and the beautiful park units made for an amazing career.
Not only was this a great career but it came with a good retirement and allowed me to retire at an early age and live the dream of exploring the country and the world.
A good place to start those explorations was right in our own backyard. The United States has some wonderful areas and many amazing National and State Parks. What better way to see these areas than fulltime in an RV. After researching types of RV’s I settled on a Safari Trek
motorhome. The layout of this motorhome seems to fit in well with my needs and my goals for traveling solo. Luckily, it didn’t take long to find the perfect Trek for sale located near Bend Oregon and was able to drive up, make the deal and return with my new home in just a few days! After divesting myself of possessions, furniture, and all the “stuff” that one seems to accumulate over the years I hit the road and spent the first nearly two years exploring the western US, western Canada and Alaska. What a ride!
Wanderlust doesn’t just confine itself to the places you can go in an RV and by 2018 it was time to expand my horizons and explore more of the world. This blog is designed to share with all my great friends and family (including those wonderful folks I have met on my journeys) all aspects of traveling this awesome world.
Looking forward to sharing this journey including all of the joys and frustrations with you all……. Ready, set, go……..
