It may sound like a cliché, but there is nothing like watching a beautiful sunrise to remind us that we are lucky to be alive – right here, right now. Taking the time to gaze at the horizon while you watch the sun break through the morning sky is truly magnificent. It is a reminder of new beginnings and new opportunities, of another wonderful day on the horizon.
All it takes to appreciate this event is getting out in the darkness when most others are still in their warm beds.
The hike to the most beautiful places for sunrise can take place while the sky is just starting to light up. With your eyes accustomed to the low light you can easily hike through the desert without the crutch of a flashlight arriving at your chosen location in time to see the sky slowly light up before the sun breaks the horizon.
Coffee is optional but highly recommended!
Sunrise at Mesa Arch in Canyonlands is a sight to see.
“For most people, we often marvel at the beauty of a sunrise or the magnificence of a full moon, but it impossible to fathom the magnitude of the universe that surrounds us.” – Richard H. Baker
Even though I’m generally an early riser, I enjoy the sunset as much as the sunrise.
The sunset is really an amazing event and we are lucky to have the chance to witness it every day. Sunrises and sunsets in the desert are a special event – with the wide open spaces and formations you are in awe with each and every one.
“Every sunset brings the promise of a new dawn” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
Very nice shot of Mesa Arch!
Every morning is a blessing. Don’t ever take it for granted. Although, some mornings could come later! ?
Your Mesa Arch shot is amazing. I’ve been here four years and haven’t gotten up for it. Which is crazy since I left for the pool at 5:40 a.m. this morning! I can get to the pool but I can’t get to the arch???!!!
